Job Summary:
The Executive Pastor at Impact serves as a strategic partner to the Senior Pastor, translating visionary ideas into actionable steps while overseeing the church’s daily operations. This role is designed for a leader who thrives in the #2 position, with complementary strengths that support and enhance the ministry’s overall mission. The Executive Pastor will lead with wisdom, compassion, and discernment, ensuring that staff, systems, and processes work harmoniously toward the fulfillment of the church's mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Partnership with Senior Pastor
• Work closely with the Senior Pastor to align church operations and activities with the Senior
Pastor’s creative vision.
• Provide practical steps and direction to move the church toward its long-term goals.
• Serve in a supportive, complementary role, ensuring no tension exists around leadership
roles or authority within the staff.

2. Conflict Resolution and Communication
• Act as a key mediator in difficult conversations among staff, volunteers, or church members.
• Listen attentively, communicate with love and truth, and diffuse high-energy situations
with wisdom and tact.
• Ensure that staff and church members feel heard and valued, even when hard decisions need
to be made.

3. Discernment and Timing
• Have a deep understanding of the church's overall vision and pulse of the congregation,
discerning when it’s time to propose or delay new ideas or initiatives.
• Demonstrate patience and wisdom in decision-making, guiding the church toward growth at the
right pace.

4. Systems and Solutions
• Develop, maintain, and improve church systems and processes to ensure smooth operations
and the effective use of resources.
• Be an innate problem-solver, addressing challenges head-on with grace and building the team
toward practical, efficient solutions.
• Equip staff with the tools and resources necessary for success and continuous improvement.

5. Staff and Leadership Development
• Lead with a heart for people development, ensuring all church systems are designed to nurture
personal and spiritual growth.
• Identify strengths and weaknesses in the team and provide opportunities for staff to grow in
their roles.
• Regularly assess systems to ensure they are contributing to the development of both individuals
and the church’s mission.

6. Calm Leadership Under Pressure
• Exhibit a non-anxious presence, managing high-pressure situations with stability and calm.
• Prioritize and delegate tasks intelligently, ensuring the team operates efficiently without
burnout or stress.

7. Big Picture and Detailed Thinking
• Understand and communicate the larger vision of the church while also managing the smaller
details required to implement it effectively.
• Lead the team through the practical steps needed to bring the vision to life, balancing long-term
goals with immediate tasks.

Key Qualifications:
Proven experience in leadership, preferably in a senior administrative or pastoral role.
• Ability to lead with humility, maintaining a supportive role without desire for the senior leadership position.
• Exceptional communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong ability to create, implement, and refine systems and processes.
Demonstrated skill in leadership development and team building.
High emotional intelligence with the capacity to listen well and foster trust.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
A heart for ministry and the development of individuals within the church context.
Ability to think both strategically and operationally, with a commitment to seeing the church
grow and flourish.
